is there any plan for a fluid dynamics rework no it's always worth mentioning at least once every dev stream that fluids work the way they are intended to right now in the game we have eyes on that there may be a minor issue inside the major logic of the fluid system
but that's still not even 100% sure, because the logic is just that advanced in how it behaves, that it's hard to discern if this is just a behavior of liquids or fluids that any of us is too small-brained to actually properly understand, which also maybe could be turned into an argument for us reworking it to be a bit simpler, sure, or if it's a bug.
But it is working the way it's intended, and ultimately what most debates about the fluid system comes down to with people, at least on Discord, is that people's wish is ultimately for pipes to just be another skin of...
another skin of conveyor belts and water to be or liquids fluids to be another skin for just any other ore or they propose something similar enough that that is what they are proposing anyway and fluids pipes had their own massive update in update 3 for a reason and that's because they did take a fair bit of development time post update 1
to get in, because the devs explicitly wanted fluids and still want fluids in the game to be something different to handle than ores.
Because yeah, like essentially just turning pipes into reskinned conveyor belts and hiding buckets of waters inside those pipes
It's doable, but ultimately not at all what the design vision for pipes is.
Liquid belts, basically, yeah.
Most of it is just floating point position from what I can tell?
Exactly, yeah.
Floating point position is a massive headache, even when fluids are behaving as intended or as expected.
So, it's hard to say.
