And story serves a good purpose in that it can tell you why you're here, what are you doing, what's the goal, etc, etc.

And also, for example, Fixit, the company you work for, gives context to the gameplay.

There's lore, yeah.

I guess it's more lore kind of stuff, but there's also a more contemporary storyline that plays as you play, essentially.

So there is something in the background going on that happens because of you as well.
