I've even said on stream that if the demand is high enough, we'll find a way to get the legacy system back in the game.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said that.

Yeah, no, the legacy vehicle system is... it's dead.

Now let me tell you about the dirt we used to bury the body.

Basically the bones, the structure of the legacy vehicle system, if you will.

It's been increasingly more difficult to support since the initial engine upgrade from UE4 to UE5.

It's been a pain point, frankly, for the team to manage, and this new system offers a way more scalable solution that the game can support for years to come.

To keep the legacy system would mean continuing to support it with each update to Satisfactory,

because the thing about game development is that all of these features touch one another in some shape or form.

Some touch each other tenderly with a gentle caress, and others from the top rope of a DX racer.

Anytime we introduce anything to the game, all systems need to be accounted for.

And to reintroduce the legacy system would be to intentionally deliver unorganized, non-expandable game code, which that's just simply not in the studio's core values.

    That was weird.

While I mourn the loss of a dear friend like the legacy vehicle paths, we've simply outgrown them.
