    Why are they getting ads?

    We don't monetize the stream.

  2. Mikael

You should not be getting full-on ads.

If we are, because we are... Twitch does ads on every channel now, regardless, I'm pretty sure.

But if you are not affiliate or partner, it should only be ads that, like, come, like, just kind of low bar and sidebar the stream.

    So, like, pop-ups, basically.

But it should not be full-on, like, playing ads above our stream.

    If it is, then...

It kind of wouldn't surprise me, unfortunately, if Twitch does that, because this channel gets that amount of viewers.

Kind of like YouTube does its thing with ads as well.

Even if you are not at all, like, partnered or making money off YouTube actively, if your video gets X views, at some point they will just bonk ads anyway, because...

If you are experiencing ads, we can't do anything about that.

We have actively waited or just chose to never do anything with that, but

  3. Jason

    that's

  4. Mikael

    upsetting.

Leo's getting... he's getting fucking sucker punched by ads.

  2. Mikael

Are you... can anyone else confirm?

    I don't think Leo confirmed.

Is it like... are ads full-on playing above our footage?

Or is it just pop-ups beneath our screen or next to our screen?

Does anyone else have this at all?

    Or are you all turbo-watched?

    Full-on?

    Yes, full-on?

    Interesting, okay.

    Then I am actually...

It would be nice to have someone, maybe in the office, watch an entire stream a Tuesday and kind of measure how much that is, because if it is...

like more than three minutes or three minutes per minute or per hour, sorry.

It might honestly be worth it to shoot a partner and control that on our end more.

  3. Jason

Then if we have forced ads, we can take whatever income on the channel is made and we can do something fun with it.

    Like not for us.

    Like eat.

    No, no, no.

You're going to eat your beans and you're going to like it.

    Okay.

But we could maybe, I don't know, do community events or giveaways or something like that.

  4. Mikael

Yeah, that would be sick, actually.

  5. Jason

Because we definitely don't need ad revenue from

  6. Mikael

    Twitch.

Also, I shouldn't be saying this out loud, but TMac is absolutely kind of correct.

Getting ads on Twitch or any platform is kind of a skill issue in the first place.

Because I most certainly am not turbo-Twitched on my account, but I also don't experience ads by...

    God's blessing or some magic.

    Again, skill issue.

    There are ways.
