    That was fun.

Oh, we should talk about the Smiling Friends bit.

We should talk about the Smiling Friends bit.

Let's talk about the Smiling Friends bit.

  2. Mikael

    God, no.

The only, like, demon of my performance in the video.

    The

  3. Jason

    VO lines?

    Yeah.

First of all, shout out Max.

Everyone say thank you, Max, for creating a beautiful Smiling Friends bit for us.

    Thank you, Max.

Max is our animator at the studio, and they are a legend.

Let's see if I have the message.

Yeah, so I originally asked Max to make this.

Hannah was actually cat sitting for me when I was going back home and Max was, I think Max drove us from my apartment with the cat to Hannah's apartment.

And I was like, Max, have you seen Smiling Friends?

Max, I really, I have an idea.

And I was wondering how available you are.

    And this is in December.

And Max is like, that's really funny.

They're like, yeah, I can do that.

    Just let me know when.

    That sounds like Max.

    Yeah, come February.

    That's pretty funny.

And so come February, I sent them some notes.

I sent them the original reference, and I sent them the rotoscope version, which I don't know if you all have seen, but they literally rotoscoped each other to make that scene, which is so funny.

And rotoscoping is just drawing frame by frame, outlining real human movement.

So Max sent me this, which if it's going to...

    Play, now it won't.

    Oh, that's so annoying.

Let me open up both of them.

    Go for it.

  4. Mikael

Watch this one open on this monitor anyway, because why not?

  5. Jason

    Uh, no.

Ozzy, you do not have to pay for 1.2, no.

It's out on experimental on Steam and EGS, but that's unstable, play at your own risk.

    It'll release officially TBD.

  6. Mikael

    Ooh, close.

  7. Jason

    Pretty soon.

    Pretty

  8. Mikael

    soon.

    Spooky.

    But yeah, no, exactly.

1.2 is also a free update, which will be hitting live sometime this year.

You can pay me and I will give you the premium version.

I'll ban your ass from the game.

    I can do that.

    Guards!

  9. Jason

Okay, so what did Max send me first?

I think Max sent me this first.

  10. Mikael

How do you guys make money continuing the living game?

    Funny you ask.

    We are...

Not worried about the money situation at all, no.

  11. Jason

Yeah, but we got that Yulmust on discount, which was really nice.

Yeah, we... Yeah, we're... Any DLC on the horizon yet?

    With what money?

    Yeah, there's no money.

We're actually moving away from salary.

    Yeah.

    Which is pretty cool.

When I was at Epic, I got paid in B-Bucks.

So we're talking with the boss to see if we can get paid in tickets, like fix-it coupons.

So that would be pretty cool.

  12. Mikael

In Sweden, when you recycle cans, just like soda cans and...

other cans, you actually get some.

When you pay for cans, like canned drinks, you actually pay a couple of kronor extra as an incentive to return these to recycling stations, because otherwise we waste too much.

    Pant.

    Pant.

    Panta.

So you actually return these to supermarkets for one or two crowns each.

  13. Jason

Yeah, so Mikael's actually been paying the rent here with his Pepsi Max cans.

    Carrying hard.

Shout out Mikael, he keeps the servers running, keeps the lights on.

    Yep.

So yeah, Max animated it in Maya, which was cool.

This is what they sent me first, which I was immediately so excited.

And then eventually they sent me this.

And some people commented that they were confused about why it was so choppy.

But the point in the show is that the show's animated on, I think, like 12s or 24s.

And then when they go to the hyper-realistic rotoscope,

It's very jarring and funny because it's in 60 FPS.

Since all of this was motion capture, it's funnier to have it be in step animation at 12 FPS.

    Yeah.

Also because Max ran out of time.

They had to do work on actual stuff of the game and they are like, hey, I don't think I can actually do like the full rotoscope.

    I'm sorry.

And I was like, no, it's actually better.

    It sells it.

    Yeah.

  14. Mikael

The 1.2 will release on PC and consoles at the same time is the plan.

  15. Jason

And if you're like not tapped in at all, Satisfactory is on console.

    Yeah.

Uh, my, my, uh, he, oh, nice.

    Nice.

    Nice fur to win.

    That's a throwback.

    That is a throwback.

Um, yeah, so that was, that was lovely.
