I think it was Leo that said, someone driving the fluid truck.

So that would be a good point to actually show you guys some of the VFX that we did.

    I think it's pretty obvious.

    Oh, Jesus Christ.

    What was I doing?

It's like so much shit in this whole world.

Don't... Guys, organization is a really important part of the process.

And it's really important that you keep organized because it's...

I feel bad for future archaeologists.

    Me?

I think you said that, Leo, earlier.

    So... That fluid truck...

    Yeah, it was CGI.

    Are we

  2. Mikael

    gonna load?

Yeah, the truck was CGI, but the phone booth shoot was actually done in London, which is pretty nice.

  3. Jason

Yeah, when we were doing the Golden Joystick back in November, we knew at that point that we wanted to...

    to do the portal potty

  4. Mikael

    bit.

That's another fun bit of trivia, actually, for the video.

I think the earliest footage in that patchwork video was shot in August last year.

    Yeah.

Yeah, the shot of you walking out of, like, there's a row of just random ass toilet booths, the blue ones, and those are placed outside all over the place in Skövde every August when we have our annual food festival.

  5. Jason

    Yeah.

  6. Mikael

    Fun fact.

Yeah, so we shot something for the video all the way back there, just wondering maybe this, because we knew at that point already that the spawn toilet was being conceived, maybe even developed, and we were like, yeah, we could use footage for that, and then we just started gathering random shit that could be useful.

  7. Jason

Marv, it was a London phone booth?

So what do you mean it isn't a bathroom?

    People piss in those.

I don't think people were pissing in that one, because I think that one was right outside the National Gallery.

    You should have.

Or the museum, like one of their museums.

    The library, wasn't it?

It might have been the library.

    Maybe.

Okay, so the fluid truck, I exported from the game, and I rebuilt the materials in Blender.

    This is nuts.

So it's pretty basic if you know this stuff.

    To me, it's Chinese.

    Oh, no, this isn't even...

Okay, I would show you the shader tree, but I appended this to the scene, so you can't actually see anything.

So you are probably wondering what these dots are.

So this is a point cloud.

This isn't actually what ended up being the final scene, but I thought the tech was cool.

    Leave your stain on, Drew.

    So timeline.

You'll see that it's following this.

This is actually the coffee stain lobby.

I used something called a Coal Map, which basically analyzes either a video slash image sequence and makes a point cloud of all the tracking data

And it makes it so that you can basically have perfect camera tracking in your 3D software.

    Everything broke.

    Yeah, basically LiDAR game blocks.

We can say it's LiDAR for sure.

    Let me see.

What I ended up doing was...

  8. Mikael

    Food truck.

Satisfactory and Satisfactory 3 and all the sequels are being conceived right now.

When are we making Satisfactory 3?

    Satisfactory 3?

    Satisfactory 3.

    Oh shit.

Just like the old 3DS games.

    I

  9. Jason

    guess it's this one.

    It's also not this one.

    I don't know.

    I don't know, guys.

    I forgot.

But I ended up just doing a normal camera track.

But yeah, I rebuilt the fluid truck in...

    Oh yeah, that's the

  10. Mikael

first angle with the super loud vent to the side that we ended up not using.

Which, by the way, chat, also another fun piece of trivia for...

If you were even semi-eagle-eyed, you may have noticed in the fluid truck shots in the final video on YouTube that there was still snow outside.

Because we did record that in...

It was either very late February or very early March, but it was still definitely winter outside.

And we shot all of that.

once outdoors and I had committed to just tanking it with only a t-shirt and my scarf.

Which felt fine But in the end I had to slightly grit my teeth and then we ended up having to redo all of it for a different reason But when we did so we also chose another angle and like this place outside in the same parking lot entirely because there was a super loud vent event by our side that Interfered with audio, but we messed up angles in the first shoots.

    So

  11. Jason

    yeah

  12. Mikael

two days in a row we went outdoors me in a t-shirt shooting that shit and

  13. Jason

Also, here's the updated fluid truck moment.

    That's spot on.

So that one was like, yes, this is definitely it.

We can go over some more

  14. of the VFX.
