      Next question!

Can we do couch co-op on console?

Now this is a fun idea for both console and PC, but for now the answer is no.

That's a lot of no's for one video.

      Let me explain.

The reason behind that decision is due to how many core systems are designed and satisfactory for a single view experience.

Keep in mind, these systems have been heavily optimized to keep your game running smoothly as you build more and more complex factories.

Think about the sheer amount of items on conveyor belts and how they move.

This was designed with a single viewport in mind, and it cuts a lot of corners to keep the game optimized and running smoothly.

Add in another viewport, and you'd essentially have to start over from scratch.

      Another reason is UI.

With so many UI options in a game as complex as Satisfactory, you'd have to redesign the whole HUD just for split-screen.

That also means redesigning all of the interaction widgets utilized in the engine.

Otherwise, you'd have some issues like horizontal scrolling with the UI.

      Gross.

      Yucky.

There are more reasons as well, but I think you get the idea.

In terms of priority, we felt like that time could be better spent elsewhere making new features for the game.
