We still want there to be some element of randomness when it comes to which alt recipe becomes available to you, but we want you to have a little bit more control over it.

Funny side note, there's currently a bug in Update 8 where it's actually possible to reset the hard drive research.

We fixed that bug during the experimental period for Update 8, but then it reappeared again on the early access release.

And I think many people believe we brought it back due to community feedback because people started complaining when we fixed it, but...
