Gonna confirm a date for you here, and that is it's gonna be pushed back six more days, so it will be out on Monday, the 8th of June.
Now, I know that's frustrating that it's late again.
I totally get that.
I can promise you it's frustrating for us as well.
I'm sure it's more frustrating for you guys, but it's frustrating for everyone.
No one wants this.
But what I can assure you is that we're not doing it for some stupid reason.
We're not just trying to lead you on.
We troll you guys a lot, but we're not trolling you with the release date, right?
We're doing our best here.
And folks who have been following us on Epic this entire time, they will know all too well
that our release dates.
They're more like a guideline.
Alright, we make our best guess, you guys.
And often, more often than not, quite frankly, we miss the dates.
So, sorry, but we are doing our best.
And, you know, the only reason we're delaying is because it's just not done.
It's just not ready.
The game's not ready.
Uh, we don't feel comfortable giving it to you, yet.
Right?
Cause it's not, it's not good yet.
Like, we have to fix it.
So yeah, but regardless of the reason, it's frustrating.
And I get that.
You may ask though, well then why give us these vague dates then that you miss?
Like, why don't you just wait until you know a date and then give us the date?
And there's two reasons for that.
As you can tell, uh, we don't know when we're doing something until like a week before.
Uh, we don't know what we're doing next week.
It's just how we work.
So if you wanted a date, if you wanted a date, a concrete solid date when we knew what was going on, you would have months at a time, three months, four months or whatever, radio silence.
All right, we will say nothing about dates.
You'll have no idea when anything is coming, none at all, until one week before and then we just drop it on you.
and the thing is that radio silence is more frustrating for folks than delays that go back to two or three weeks and and it really is more frustrating we've done it before uh for an update where we have to keep the date a secret and uh first of all we set a date and we missed it by three months look this is these two weeks of delay rookie numbers
We missed the date by three months.
But then after we missed the date, we gave no date.
And in that time, people were frustrated, thinking the game is dead, that we have no idea what's coming or when.
And so that's no good either.
That's very frustrating for folks.
So whether we give vague dates or radio silence,
people are going to be frustrated and so what I would prefer and by extension what we would prefer is to be transparent and so we give these dates and these are the dates that we it's just the information that we know right so when we say we think it's on the 2nd of June it's because that's what we think
and we're like we didn't say it will be the second of june we said kind of looks like we need to push that back a week or so but even if we push it back one more week uh we don't know for sure whether or not we're gonna be able to commit to that and we would tell you that immediately like i often check in with the producers like hey do we have any kind of dates yet do it and the second we have a really a really good prediction that we miss anyway but but our best prediction i come and tell you guys okay because i want you to know what we know and there's nothing more to know after that
So just like today, filming on Thursday, releasing on Friday, I found out today on Thursday that it's gonna be 8th of June, and here I am making a video, right?
This is when I found out.
I found out two hours ago.
One and a half hours ago.
So I just want you guys to be in the loop.
I would prefer that approach, and then maybe we miss the dates or whatever, but we're transparent with you guys.
And another reason we don't set concrete deadlines is if we were to give a deadline, say three months before,
two months before, one month before, and we set a concrete deadline, it will be out on this date.
If we did that, we run a very high risk of needing to crunch.
I mean, we're bad at predicting dates as it is.
We had to delay a week or two weeks or whatever it was.
That means we would need to have gotten those two weeks of work in before.
And that means crunch.
And we're not going to crunch.
That's why we won't set concrete deadlines when we're not sure.
Because we're never going to crunch.
Because it hurts our employees.
We have to think of our well-being.
And as much as it sucks for the game to be delayed for you guys and for us,
It sucks really bad for us as a company to see our employees suffering and for those employees who are suffering.
And so that's more important to us.
So we're always going to value that more.
So now the other thing you might be asking then is, well, if you're going to give, okay, you're going to give us these vague dates.
You're going to give us your best guess.
How will we know it's your best guess, right?
How will we know it's not a concrete date?
And there's one easy way to do that.
Take a look.
We don't know for sure whether or not we're going to be able to commit to that.
Again, we don't have an exact date, but we do have a better time frame.
The usual disclaimer, literally anything can happen to push it back.
Friday, I'm going to give you the best prediction that we have.
Take that with a bit of grain of salt, though.
And so that kind of means I think the way this is going to play out is you're just going to get it by a surprise.
We don't know what's going on 99% of the time.
And so you can hear in our language, we say things like we think it's going to be this or we're confident it's going to be this, this, unless there's a delay.
There's always that risk that people will take these guesses, our best guesses as concrete dates.
And that is clear.
We can see this now and we could see this
through the entire development but if you want to know if we are giving you a concrete date or not just listen to say if we're guessing or if we think if we don't use any of that then we are telling you the date like the steam release will be out on the 8th of june i'm not saying it might be hopefully there are no it's gonna be out we are so confident that it's gonna be out on the 8th of june i can come to you and tell you it will be out on the 8th of june
So I think we're gonna keep going the way we're going, and there's gonna be frustrated people, I get that.
But in any case, hopefully this explanation can just help you understand where we're coming from.
You may like it or not, but hopefully you can understand our approach to this.
