Snutt
Sorry, this is a bit off topic.
This isn't Final Fantasy, but I played Chrono Cross recently.
Jace
Oh, Chrono Cross does have the same kind of vibe as Final
Snutt
Fantasy X.
That was really good.
I don't know why I slept on that for so long.
I think I was disappointed that it wasn't Chrono Trigger or something.
Because Chrono Trigger was
Jace
so good.
I played Chrono Cross before
Snutt
Chrono Trigger.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Jace
Yeah, but I never finished Chrono Cross because the disc that I had wouldn't play after a certain point.
I had that with Final Fantasy VII.
I had to buy a second copy.
So I would like to play Chrono Cross, but I've played the beginning of that game so many times now, it's hard to sink my teeth
Snutt
into.
Yeah, it is a very grindy game too.
So it's not easy.
Because I played Chrono Cross, and then when we moved, I lost one of my memory cards.
Jace
And
Snutt
I was like, I guess I could just restart.
And then I was like, it's kind of tough to get back into a game like that and restart it.
But then last summer vacation, I sat down and I was like, I'm just going to play through the entire thing because I feel like I kind of want to experience that.
And it was really good.
It had that like...
confusing time travel thingy kind of situation at the end.
Which I really like those type of storylines.
Jace
I think maybe I should just play Chrono Cross, honestly.
I'd love to actually get around to finishing it.
The characters were cool.
Combat was cool too, right?
What do you do with the combat again?
The combat is really
Snutt
weird.
Was it
Jace
quick time events while playing as well or something?
Snutt
It's not quick time events, but it's made in such a way where any spell can only be used once during the fight.
So fights are supposed to be short.
And it's like when you were making attacks, you build your mana meter, kind of, and then you spend it on your magic.
Right and then you want to like sequence them in such a way where like if you do have three heavy attacks Then you'll have X amount of points so you can use like your good attacks
and
Snutt
And then there's some confusing situation where like you can, like the arena is a room and it has like different attributes and the magic you use affects that.
So you can like sync up your attack so that you get stronger attacks.
Which I never understood how to like, how that worked.
And then at the end, of course, there's a fight where you have to know how that works.
so like i was so stuck at some point i'm like what the hell am i doing wrong and as i had to google like oh you're supposed to do this with the room thing and i'm like oh i forgot about this i've never done this so did you did you finish it yeah i finished it i got the secret ending and everything
Jace
Oh, nice.
I saw you played it recently.
Yeah.
I need to finish that game.
