Another thing to note is that when you're browsing through your save files and when you know you're gonna load a game, you'll notice that there's some icons here will have a little pencil on it and on the session and that means that within that session there are some there's at least one save that has AGS enabled and you can see here that there's a list of saves here under this one session.

Some of them have advanced game settings enabled and some of them don't.

And this is because I branched my saves using the method I said before.

I would load in with AGS enabled and then save the game.

And that would be a separate save.
