Have you been using AI code generation in the game's development?

    No.

We have not had AI write a single line of code for Satisfactory.

We have not had AI do a single creative asset for Satisfactory.

What we have had is we have had AI as references or asking AI about code logic.

so never refactoring never flat out writing but just understanding or like trying to get a little bump up the i'm trying to make this this logic within a game where all this logic exists um approaches and ai is very easy easy very cleanly putting together like pros and cons to um if you are familiar with the big o notion that's one thing

Again, I have done programming professionally, so I can speak that jargon a little bit if you want to talk later, or now.

But I have to stress chat.

    I have to stress chat.

AI... AI is, to quote my boss actually, AI is not a train you want to stand in front of.

    Personally...

Personally, I am hard against, and I think I always will be hard against, AI flat out making creative assets, creative things like painting, games, music, videos, all this shabazz.

Because the human touch there is irreplaceable.

    Like, it just is.

    Code is logic.

AI is getting frighteningly good at writing code.

It's not writing code for us right now, and it's not going

    anytime soon.

But again, I have done programming professionally.

If you had to pick between me or AI to help you solve decently complex logic or computations, for the love of God, please pick the AI.

Like, with code specifically, AI is frighteningly smart, and where feasible, and where you understand how it can be a reasonable tool to use, and not a shortcut or a cheat,

Please consider your options and please keep an open mind to where AI is okay for you to implement in your daily life.

Because again, this is not a train you want to be standing in front of.

It's also not a train you want to be standing behind.

You want to be flat on this one.

Because the world is moving there.

Whether we all like it or not, it is moving there.

    I'd rather pay you.

    Well, I'll take the money.

I agree, AI is getting really good at coding, but it's still far from a replacement for actual developers.

    That is true.

    That is true.

That is also, by the way, that is also a very good point.

If it also didn't need an entire fucking rainforest to run.

Because my brain can absolutely code slower than an AI, but I'll get there eventually, and I will only burn two trees on my way.
