Surströmming outside of summer?

Is that even doable?

I've never looked for surströmming.

I've never looked for it, period, actually.

But I've never had it outside of summer.

I've had it twice in my life.

And honestly, it's not the worst thing I've eaten.

I hear part of what's so gross about it is that a lot of people, when they do those challenge videos in the United States, when they are mailing the surströmming to the US, it gets too hot and it spoils in the tin.

And so the thing people are actually eating is way nastier than what it actually is.

No, like, my sense of smell is all but gone, but I still feel that when it's open.
