So we'll be regarding the story of copies sold.

So we were talking about how

we weren't sure how many copies we sold.

So we made an announcement.

We made a video.

Hey, we actually sold, at the time, half a million copies.

Another thing to note there is we didn't report this right away, because there was something strange.

And Birk was part of the discussion, too,

We didn't really know what to say.

We're not one of those companies where we're like, look at us, we're doing so great.

It's so wanky and corporate to

be

like, we have sold 500,000 copies.

So we didn't know if we should say anything because it's like, it doesn't matter.

Or how to say it.

I think honestly the only reason we probably did it was because of the epic stuff.

It's because there was pressure from the outside to say something.

That's why we did it.

And then even then we did it in a way where there was an entire Q&A video

and there was just jokes made about that this copy sold and then I just moved on and talked about other things because we didn't want to blow like a statement or anything

well everything was going

And another thing that I forgot to put in the slides that I feel kind of bad about is that this was also the year, or kind of, it's not true because this contract was signed before, I think, but we were also acquired by THQ.

So this was around the time when we also were announcing that, hey, THQ, who are now known as Embracer Group,

we're purchasing Gofstein.

That was right around the epic thing.

The

exclusivity announcement.

So the timing was not kind.

Everything corporate.

Corporate takeover.

And they were separate from each other, right?

It wasn't like THQ made us do that.

But

yeah, so like, we feel happy with the sense that we did.

And I think the lead up for this as well is that I mentioned before that I was kind of like taking over the Twitter account for a while while Jace was on vacation.

I remember this specific thing where when we were doing the handoff, the handoff, our handoff was like, hey, you're doing Twitter

now.

Okay.

And I asked, like, is there anything that I shouldn't do?

And you were like, yeah, don't have Q&As on 8chan.

I'm like, cool.

That was amazing.

So that was also tied in with the THQ thing.

I don't want to go too deep into that.

So one of the first things that happened while I got the handle was that Matthew Mercer tweeted us and he was like,

Hey, so we've been playing our game, it's like our Wyandine game as a couple, and we discovered this in the landscape, and we were like, oh, it's meant to be.

It's the Mercer Sphere.

It's the Mercer Sphere, which is ironically, not ironically, named after Matthew Mercer.

Because you're a huge fan.

Yeah, so I'm a huge fan of Critical Role, which Matthew Mercer is the DM of, so is Birk, so that's why he's here.

And I put a lot of Critical Role references in the game, and this was one of them I named.

a character after Mercer and then subsequently the Mercer sphere was named after the character and so when this tweet happened we had a full-on freakout because holy shit you know this is like one of the people I look up to most in the world and it just escalated

Somehow.

Because we had that full meltdown, Brian.

And I saw that and I was like, uh, do I...

what do I do?

This is literally the first thing that I was dealing with when I was taking over during the vacation.

It's like the

most important part of

my life.

But you did respond to Math, and you were like, hey, those spheres are named after you.

And he's like, wait, what?

And then, yeah, this chain was kind of nice.

It was so

flattering.

It was really nice.

And then what you don't see in this chain is all of us chiming in like, holy shit, what the fuck?

We're super big fans.

So that was really cool.

But I was able to sort of like DM with Matt a little bit and

And also, we noticed that Matt was coming to Comic Con Sweden.

It's the first time he's coming to Sweden.

Or whatever.

And he knows we exist now, so he'll report to his

And eventually we sort of saw that Matt and I started talking on Twitter and arranged a full-on dinner meetup.

And we went to the Comic Con and we met him and we had dinner with him.

We being who?

We being like Berk, me, we had Daniel, a friend of ours who we play D&D with, and also Linus, who's also a big fan that works here, casting, publishing.

So that was really, really cool.

And then also the event coordinator from Critical Role showed up, Brittany.

Joy of a human being.

So it was the best thing ever, because I had dinner with my hero, and it was amazing.

That's the thing.

So that was a

good weekend.

super dope he wore that on the Critical Role stream like their Halloween scream they all wore costumes from characters that they voiced oh really so yeah because that was on point Sam had a Phoenix Wright costume so good Ashley Johnson was in the Avengers was she I think she was maybe that's that's oh yeah yeah she was she made a cameo there yeah truth truth hello people that are joining by the way
