when can we expect controller support, on experimental right now play it it's it's there and we honestly we really really really want to hear folks feedback on this because this was a really tricky game to port, so we made some choices that we're not sure are the best because it's hard to kind of predict like people's habits with playing because like translating especially when you come from playing the game on keyboard and mouse and then like having to switch to controller is a very different experience than if you immediately start on controller right you seem to be crapping on the mic for a second there but, myself there we go, but yeah I mean there So so please absolutely tell us, what's going on with the controller and if you like it if you don't what are what are things that you'd like to see more of or less of or or changes all that kind of stuff, there's Yeah it would be very very nice for us to get, feedback, cuz I can speak for me as well the I'd like to think that I'm used to playing games at this point all things considered, but I at times do need to make use of the just glyph prompts or like small menu guides at the bottom to see what button goes where cuz it's not always super intuitive only because really can't be that I wouldn't this is going to be a bold claim but, I don't really I can't really consider or like remember too many games with all the intricacies of Satisfactory just amount of menus like sub functionalities that still like allow main functions example would be how do you control nudging and then on top of that how do you control nudging while still being able to move in the world it's it's this is a game that's already overloading the keyboard controls, and with a limited set of controls that you have on a controller it gets even worse so like you have to use a lot of contextual stuff, which gets a little bit tricky with people's like muscle muscle memory and habits and and then also like okay what do we do with like like normal FPS conventions for controls, and our game cuz like an FPS game has very different priorities than a factory building game and I don't think a game like this has ever been on a controller, so there's a lot of like things that we're like okay there's conventions for all these other games that are very different but nothing that's very close to us so we just kind of had to reinvent the wheel, it's Yeah yeah it's some there were some fun challenges involved and a lot of back and forth when like testing like different control sets and and and like what people liked and like it's still it's still a divisive topic internally here because a lot of people have personal preferences and habits that clash with what we decided on so it's it's a it's a science I like what extra fresh in chat is writing as well with it's getting into wow territory in terms of key bindings which is resonate resonating with me because I'm an MMO lover yeah, and it's true like, before before Satisfactory like honestly the only game that I thoroughly enjoyed that I could not ever imagine playing on a controller would be World of Warcraft or 14 which is funny because 14 has full control support but yeah, saying all that I am thoroughly amazed by once you do get the, like tutorial and the like routines of okay this is how it it works I am thoroughly amazed by how seamless this game on controller is, even in my book it's not perfect but it's very very good, it's it's better than I could hope for honestly already at this point because we were really intimidated by this, and I mean we we got we got a, a company specialized in porting stuff to consoles like involved in this and they did a lot of the controller support like, like testing and programming and and designing and trying out, so like they they they had more experience with with that perspective thankfully so they could bring a lot of that in but yeah it's it's it's mostly like once you accept that things are just slower on controller and that is not fixable purely because of how the camera control works like mouse camera control is much easier and much more precise than than camera control with a thumb stick, and that you know just will slow you down specifically building it will make make you less precise so you have to learn like lean more on things like nudging and things like that like that I think is the biggest sort of mental obstacle to get over with this stuff, but aside from that I think it works pretty well he
