Uh when Q&A in about an hour, I'd guess. Yeah, an hour and 10. Um and also, we're going to get into the follow-up very very soon. And if you're new to as new to if you haven't seen last week's stream, the follow-up is a new section. Uh but before that, let me gush about that. We've framed it finally. Just needs to be on the wall, which is not yet obviously. Uh hello. The game is satisfactory. The dev streams are not. How dare you? But also, yes, you are correct. Yeah. Uh hello people. The, follow-up segment, the point over here, pen, thank you. The follow-up segment right over here, read it, is about me following up with some questions from yesterday., which I found were like either I haven't seen them myself on the QA site or I feel like they definitely desire to be like answered, kind of not urgently but as soon as soon as possible, while also not being able to give proper answers last week, when they were asked in the Q&A section. So, if I do find these questions in today's Q&A, I'll bring them back with me to the studio, to the devs and, you know, get some clarifications, status updates, whatever, and make sure that, we know what's happening with these elements of the game that people ask for and then follow up in the following test stream. So, let's go right ahead and talk slightly about the first thing people are noticing kind of immediately when booting up 1.1 EXP, which is the change to the Pioneers jump height. Uh, I've actually had info now from Mark today that, this is, and Hannah can correct me if I'm wrong because she's also more I swear as a witness. Yeah, that what he's going to say is probably true or it's going to be close to true enough, to the truth. So, close enough to the truth. But there is a change in the jump height. Yes, it's not the jump height directly. It's a change in the multiplier of the slide jump, which now also is just like like the slide jump itself in 1.1. Let's just go with like what it feels like to play. Uh the slide jump itself is more powerful as is every other jump the Pioneer performs in 1.1. This is not intended. Um and we are looking to change this back. We are hoping to be able to push this back for 1.1, but no promises. Um, and the reason this happened is, most likely due to someone's decision that it was very, what's the phrasing here? Like it made sense in the context of playing with controllers basically. Um, and then this change has just and then had unintended consequences in the game. Um, you know that old adage of like, oh yes, the you have 101 bugs in the code. Programmer squashes squashes one, you have 107 bugs in the code. Every time you change something somewhere, there's a chance something everywhere elsewhere also changes. Um, so this was one of those cases probably. The problem with this one as well is that that's very true, but also the problem with this one is that even the change in its intended spot, controller usage, still allows for this new jump to actually cause issues in the game as it is right now, whether you're playing with controller or keyboard mouse, because again, no matter what you play with on exper issues in some places of the game and so even though we have heard the feedback and also I'm one of them, feedback that this new jump feels nice, I'm a certified parkour in Satisfactory. Uh we are looking to change it back. Don't expect this to stick around. Um hopefully again for 1.1 launch, but, if not then ASAP after that. Uh so that's the jumping. The next thing I also want to address because I'm also a big fan of the suggestion is, when you boot up the game, is there a way for us to just skip past all the splash screens? You know, we have the Satisfactory logo. You have the disclaimers if it's exp and stuff. You have the note about, seizure warnings or, health advice. I'm not sure what to call that blur, but yeah, you know, the blur talking about, flashing lights, seizures, all this. And there is a chance absolutely we can look into skip by everything except for the blurb about seizures because, more so consoles but also I think PC appreciates have it but console, provide Sony m Sony and Microsoft basically require this to be shown like for its full intended length every time you boot up the game. Um and so for the sake of consoles they will not be skippable but also again they are just very very good to have on PC. like there's no reason to have it. We'd rather be safe. Absolutely. Um so for the sake of safety all over the place, we are keeping that blurb for the rest of the boot up segments though. Yeah, absolutely. It's been, taken to the, suggestion board that this could and should maybe be skippable if you are booting up the game for the, six quintilionth time. Uh I think you know by this point what the game is called. Don't need to see the logo all over again. Um that's that one. And then finally my third note is digital. Um, before I forget and before we just lull off into, talking random smack, I have a message from our QA lead/p producer Uzu Julio and he tells me that, for context, by the way, chat, two things. Um, one is that there have been a huge load of holidays around us. We have two incoming on Thursday and Friday. the entire studio is off and then also in weeks past because of Easter there's been more off days, and I'm probably forgetting one or two other strokes and then also at the end of May we'll have another and June start of June as well we'll have like more holidays coming in so timeline right now is a bit scuffed it's like yeah I mean, holidays are coming in and off days are coming in but for some people that just means that you try to somehow manage five days of work 5 days worth of work into four or even three, nobody's crunching, but, we are shifting priorities and trying to get everything done anyway. Um but with that context and the context of that there will be no dev stream next week because that is the first Tuesday of May or a new month and we don't do dev streams on the first Tuesday of a month since a since March, February. Anyway, we are going to leave you with the juicy bone that there will be, hopefully be a very juicy patch for experimental next week after we're done with this set of holidays. So like in literally like yeah 7 8 days there should be, quite a substantial patch to 1.1 fixing, many things, optimizing some things and probably breaking a few other things. That's pretty cool. I'm sure we'll break something. That's guarant. That's part of the adventure that we have here together. No dev stream, but rec stream on tennos. I am rec clearing today. That is true. That is true. Um, we are doing things. We are doing things and we're being kind of good at doing things. Yeah. I mean, I did talk, last stream maybe the last stream at least that I was present cuz I wasn't present the the previous week, because I was attending an accessibility workshop. Uh and that was super cool. Uh, like a whole bunch of us are learning about, you know, how to make our games like better for people with disabilities, but also just generally have better quality of life features and just be more accessible, not just for people who have disabilities, but just for people who have preferences or have specific like tastes of play styles and things like that. So, that's super neat and we learned a lot. It was super super cool. Was there already like an archive or rundown of what you went through on TV? No, we're working on that right now. That's I mean I guess I can talk about that like we're actually working on because only a few people attended this this workshop. Um like also like people from other companies here in Koda. Um and we are going to sort of disseminate that information. We're going to, I think, have a a bit of a brainstorm next week or or the week after, to try to find, okay, how are we going to sort of pass this information on and also maybe hold a mini workshop to for the rest of the team to to learn from this as well. But, yeah, it was super cool. We worked with Able Gamers for that and they were wonderful. So, it's super, that's it's really exciting because we we learned a lot of new things. That's always fun. Um, the thing is I learned at the beginning of beginning of January I was driving, while I was driving like earlier, or late last year and while I was driving I felt that I should be able to read signs sooner than I am at the moment while I'm out on the road speeding by. Um, and I went and also like for context, I took my license like 5 years ago at this point, five or six years ago, my driver's license, driver's license. And, while I was doing that, you have to get your eyes checked when you do probably in most countries, hopefully all, here you do. And when I checked my eyes for the license, I was kind of just scraping by being allowed to drive without glasses. And this was five, six years ago. Um, and so I probably should have realized sooner than I did like half a year ago now that hm yeah maybe my eyes will have deteriorated like to the point of being below that threshold across five or six years and they had cuz I went back and checked now in January and they told me that yeah legally you are not allowed to drive anymore without glasses like oh good to know good to know. Um good very good to know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If you see me in the front without this [ __ ] run. Um very good to know. And so, and so, like it's still kind of just below the thresh the threshold. So I can still see like pretty fine without these. Um the world does go more HD with these on obviously and I see on a distance as well. but also these serve as both that slight sight adjustment and they are also, blue light proof. So they actually work more I actually use them more for the blue light, protection than I do for the, sight improvement. Um and that's just like sometimes I forget to wear them because I'm just not used to them yet. And sometimes I, just kind of it's also like yeah wearing these wearing these and these at the same time. If you guys have like worn glasses for most of your life or at least gaming lives and you know have been able to pull off glasses and headset, please teach me how cuz maybe my ears are bad shape for this or maybe my headset needs to be bigger or whatever. Uh it does get kind of painful and that's usually when these go off and then I forget to put them back on for like days. So, that's the glasses nerd talk from me and my eyes, right? So, maybe not no secret messaging or like recruiting into some shady organization. Blink twice if through the glasses. Yeah. Yeah. It's kind of cool cuz you can also see like these these things. There you go. They they reflect blue light. Like nothing on my screens is blue at the moment, but you see how they like reflect in blue color up here. It's pretty cool. Oh, that's pretty cool. I actually never noticed that. So yeah, coffee stain. I'm literally wearing headphones and glasses right now. How thick are the arms? How thick? I have no idea how thick these are. Um I say I do like these for, fashion as an accessory. Wow. Rener just Rener is just essentially saying get good. Lovely. So rude. Did I take the postit down because I kept because it kept coming loose? it, almost fell on top of me last Friday and that's I was like, "Yeah, [ __ ] it. I'm getting it framed and probably like hung up there now." So, these Aliana is talking about there's a charity in the UK that's all about enabling disabled gamers special effects. Yes, I know about them as well. They collaborate with able gamers as well. Uh there's a lot more to it than bigger fonts and narration. Every dev understands accessibility. Yeah, honestly. Yeah. Uh and I think like especially after the workshop a lot like all of us feel like we have become better game developers in general just because we will make our choices with intent now. We actually understand whether we're making a choice or like towards a certain direction more. Um so yeah it's all about making informed decisions. That's the best thing you can do. Even if we decide to not support support a certain thing, we at least are making that decision consciously and understand what we are sacrificing, right? Which is very important. I'm shouting out, from that kind of hope hopping from that to controllers being, usable in 1.1 as well. Just like I mean controllers just baseline for some people are much like preferred to keyboard mouse, maybe even like the only option to some people. Yeah. Um, so again, big shout out to that happening in 1.1 and the fact that they actually are super nice to play with. By the way, chat, slight spoiler. Um, somehow somewhere I am going to stream a full replay of this game. I'm aiming to be the first coffee stainer to finish this game from beginning to end with controller. That's my goal. And it's going to be on stream. All right, we're going to have actual proof of this which stream will see, but it's going to be on stream. Uh, apparently in the States it's a once and done. you check and you get your license your teens and you're able to drive into your 90s. I know in Sweden you get a new license printed every 10 years because facial changes as you age. Uh and I'm not I haven't had that happen to me yet. I think I'm close actually. Yeah, three or four maybe years. I'm not sure if they by that point will ask you to come in for a new, eyesight requirement because like your eye like there is actually like a little code in the corner of your card that tells you at what eye state you are. So, like if you have to use something to, drive or not. And I'm assuming that would also be like renewed on a card. So, yeah. Seems so. I wonder do do they like talk to each other? Does like the medical system tell the whoever does your driver license like, "Oh, this is these are the eye staff, you know, like Yeah, I know. I know that. Um, it's the same or at least similar in the Netherlands, you have to keep renewing it all the time, especially once you get older just to kind of check whether you're still able to have appropriate reaction time, and like attention span and stuff like that. My grandma who is 90 is getting hers renewed. She's badass. Damn. Yeah, it's really sick. Still drive. Uh yeah, I also like since that little code is printed on a license that was printed for me six years ago, I could still on paper drive without these. Like if they stop me and they check my card and I don't have this on me again, my card tells me it's okay. So this is, in good conscience and common [ __ ] sense that I'm just wearing these at the moment. Hopefully actually required by me soon on paper as well. Uh will there be any more content coming, in the EXP branch before the full release of 1.1? Uh, I think it's safe to say actually kind of unlikely. Maybe it is pretty unlikely because basically that would potentially make the game more unstable again and would require more testing and bug fixing and then we kind of delay the whole process. Yep. So maybe I mean sometimes small things in the beginning but those are mostly related to fixes or polish or like feedback people have given but at this point unlikely indeed. Yes. All right, before we move into highlights chat, which today also thankfully are just, you know, your run-of-the-mill good old comfort zone slideshow highlights, I do have two shout outs I want to make. I'm going to keep an eye out and, Hannah can help as well. I forgot to tell you about this, by the way. Sorry. Uh two shout outs from, two programmers, Bogdan and Lim respectively, in fact. and, they are that if you are a player who is playing the game on Epic, they would like to know if you finally can access all of your early access rewards if you did play since before 1.0 cuz we had had issues. Um hopefully solved even earlier than this, but we took some extra precautions and measures to make sure that everyone should have these unlocked, rewards unlocked if you are eligible. That is if you play the game before the launch of 1.0 So, in EA on Epic, if you did that, you should have all of the EA rewards accessible to you. Now, if any of you are an Epic player and have like been aware of these not being available and is now also, aware that they are available, please do inform me. We are fishing for this info because that is kind of hard for us to test ourselves. Um, what are the rewards? What are the rewards? Golden helmet. golden golden everything. Golden golden helmet, golden trinket, golden build gun. Um, so do please write to us about that in like any form. It can be this, it can be QA forum, it can be me on discord, DM me know, find me. Um, if you are like sitting on weird blueprint autoconnect junk at the moment that, you feel should be fixed, there's a good chance it is because in this juicy update that's coming out next week, we have a good chunk of these things, coming your way. Um and that's we're just kind of talking about that. But specifically like you know the ideal solution and like a bunch of games do this specifically more modern ones is where you essentially it it can listen to both at the same time. Um and it can adjust the the the hut as necessary. that's I imagine that is quite complicated to do. So this is something that like we are talking about internally about whether that's possible, either short-term or long-term or at all for how the architecture of a game is put together. But yeah, I would love to have that because I would also, I you know I have even if if you have two controllers active at the same time, it can only read one of them, right? So this is quite restrictive in building any kind of, sort of extra controller support of having extra buttons or two controllers active at the same time or whatever.
