splitter and mergers replace without destroy when, we have that- I'm sorry that this is the way you find out but that exists chat has chastised me during gameplay streams for dismantling Splitters and then putting mergers in the exact same place later yeah so the way it works is you hold control when you hover over the the thing and it will replace it, but if you've connected belts to it you the belts need to be in the correct orientation when it goes out so like you can't have if you place down a merger and you put in one belt into the merger, that's going to work but if you have two belts going into a merger and you try to switch it to a splitter that's not going to work because the splitter obviously can't output two or it can't have three inputs right yeah, but so long as the scenario that you're switching to accepts the belts then it will work and you can just dismantle like the belts that are inhibiting you from switching it and then swap it into the other one so yeah sorry that that feature exists I'm sorry oh he left the scene chat
