so we've tried to make it as stable as possible there are some known issues right now, and the biggest one the biggest known issue that we have currently is that the online subsystem that we have in our game that handles sort of the connectivity aspect of of the game, sorry it doesn't actually handle the the low-end connectivity aspect of the game but it does handle sort of the top layer of that, I posted a video on YouTube last week if you want to learn learn more about this but but TLD essentially it's it's handling like getting your friends list from Steam, if you're on Steam if you're on Epic it you're on friends list on Epic if you have tied your accounts, with steam epic it will also grab grab your epic friends and stuff like that, when you're sending session ID it's like getting that, and all that stuff and, that system was introduced late in update 8 and it's still a bit working progress, there are still things that we need to sort of fix up with that and there are features coming as well with that online subsystem that we haven't fully implemented yet, and the reason why we updated it were a couple reasons it was partly because of some authentication issues, that we needed to update the back end we haven't updated in a long time we also wanted to set ourselves up for future work so we can add new features with the system in mind because we hadn't updated that system since like I don't know since, since the steam release I think, so that system was in a dire need of being updated and you know being able to support the new versions of like the low-end stuff the SDK that we're using for online peer-to-peer stuff, being able to like integrate that and update that on and that's more doable with the new system and you may noticed that the UI is going to change a little bit and all that stuff, and the biggest, sort of feature that's missing at the moment when EA when update drops on EA is that we have the feature where if you're on Steam you can link your epic account if you want to, but at the moment you in Update 7 you can also unlink your account, but in up to date that feature is not there yet it's going to come soon trademark, the reason why that has changed is because we want to move the whole account linking outside of the game so you don't have to do that in satisfactory so you can do it on like a website or something like that it makes it a lot more seamless for everyone really because you don't yeah for a couple of reasons, but at the moment that functionality isn't fully there, there's going to be some workaround for that stuff in between now and then but essentially we're going to keep working on on the online subsystem and and post like push our patches on experimental again, sometime soon I don't know when we'll start doing that fully but, but yeah that that sort of work will happen, and then once that is stable enough all those features we're going to move it back over to EA and then we'll sort of have the full updated release, with that functionality in mind there's no real gameplay changes here, there's not going to make multiplayer better or anything like that in that regard that that aspect isn't handled by that system, but when it it comes to like the connectivity connecting to the services you know that sort of stuff that's sort of what that system is there for, so that's that's important to know and it's also important to know
