gotcha, so I want to talk a little bit about the map and the the state of the map in update 8 now it was funny cuz when we were talking about this before the stream you were both like wait what was the changes again cuz like since then- I believe there's been a lot of changes yeah, but, we're going to look at the, let me share my screen as well I forgot to do that, am I gonna ruin this one second I'm G to switch this so I don't ruin the stream more more than I already have wow okay you can just tell me that I should leave, okay you should see my screen right now right, let me check let me check it might be you might see a lot of stuff I, there it is I think yep cool so, make sure this works too yeah cool so on our press kit we have a little folder for like update 8 and like the the the map changes that went into effect, and I believe this is this is the map for the changes that went into effect for up toate, so like this is like the the severity of of the changes for up toate so to speak yeah and one area particular that I'm interested in is the bamboo Fields, because I remember if we look at the road map mhm I think bamboo fields and jungle spires also Southern Forest these are so like this is sort of the road map going forward like these are the areas you can expect to see a lot of change in, after after up to date and and one this is a funny story like the bamboo Fields what happened there when you were merging that cuz like it was there was like two bamboo fields for for a bit or something like that yes yes so basically we were working on bamboo fields and then decided to go in in a different direction instead so we wanted to revert the the area but the area had been pretty heavily edited at that point the problem is while we were working on bamboo fields we did the change from elal engine 4 to five meaning that reverting the change would mean reverting to a a a version of that area in the previous engine and that was just that was literally impossible to do so we were kind of stuck like okay so what do we do now with this area because we don't like where it's going we kind of want to start from the same base again like what we had so what do we do here and then Ben our technical artist who is also made of magic in my opinion managed to find a half solution where he he could revert or at least grab the old foliage and import that into the new engine So eventually we ended up with an area where it had the the landscape of the second version and the foliage of the first version meaning that the two were entirely disconnected so a bunch of foliage was floating the in the landscape there were paths but foliage just kind of covered the whole thing cuz the they they the interplay was broken entirely because they were from two different versions of the area, so that's like why that area is still going to undergo changes even though it will have changed for people who are playing update 8, because these are not the changes that we intended entirely so it's still going to go through landscape and Fage changes but specifically the landscape changes should should be minor and should not like encroach upon people's factories or any of those kind things the the kind of technical difficulties you don't really think about until you face them I thought it was really interesting cuz like when I loaded into the bamboo Fields the first time there was there was like too many bamboo trees and I thought it was pretty cool I was like is this this is cool and I showed you like a picture like this is not what that's supposed to look like no I was like no yeah, okay so that's interesting so so for those of you who don't know by the way, the the World level design stuff that's going that's like on its own separate track sort of so we never like really we usually merge in the level design into the branches where we actually push so for instance between when was the last World update it was update six maybe I think it was update six yeah I think we skipped seven yeah CU like yeah the stuff we were doing was in progress like at seven so there was no use for us to merge that into the branch because then everyone would just get incomplete stuff yeah and these are pretty big changes as well, and we try to like not we we don't want to include it in every single update because they can affect it affects our work a lot but it also affects your you guys' factories a lot, if the if the level design constantly updates if we keep changing it every time might as well just you know give you an area all at once so only once you have to you know check and fix your factory if necessary yeah so so what we're looking at right now is like
