Scotia Duck Tolling retriever also known as a taller and they're like small they kind of look like small golden retrievers kind of, she's very cute and she's very cute she is it's it's she's dangerously cute, it's a very active breed which is also dangerous because like people see like oh a cute dog and then like right they grow up and they're like holy [ __ ] you need to be ready for it right you need to be yeah yeah you need to research what they need and give them what they need yeah yeah but it's been it's been very little sleep, which is why I took like time off from work because I would have been dead if I wouldn't right right yeah, because like yeah I have to get up every two hours or so oh [ __ ] yeah so it's kind of rough yeah well I think it's really good that you're you're focusing on your your child your fur baby yeah I mean it kind of is yeah, and it's it's always like you know you you don't really decide when you get a puppy so it's always like it's always at a bad time and you know it we'll talk a little bit about that maybe during the video too because like this this production for this update I wasn't there for half of it and usually we're very involved when we make the the patch notes video and this time it felt so strange to like hand it off yeah usually you do a lot of the heavy lifting the way it usually works is that snoot does most of the heavy lifting for passengers videos I would say, and then- I then take on all the other Community Management duties and keep that going and like- I get the other videos going the weekly videos going and things like that and- I would help prepare streams and things like that, while student just focuses on the videos but this time around that wasn't, the case things were different this time I shut my pants but it'll work out yeah I did I'm super happy that it did you know and I'm super happy how that video turned out to yeah it did turn out really good I'm really really proud of it I yeah- I was I was like scared at first and then it was starting to shape up I was like wow this is actually good this is actually good wow so yeah it was good, the, the moo is from Nova Scotia so, you have stolen Hello Kitty, yeah okay well I'm I'm glad to hear that things are going good with a dog right now but it is really strange because like I love being part of the releases usually like I love hanging out on Twitch and like checking out people streaming the game and and you know that kind of stuff and there's been none of that- I the first time I opened up a satisfactory stream was like yesterday or something like that yeah, speaking of kid bits because it was actually Kevin's stream there you go, but it's it's so like hectic because you're like constantly like oh the puppy's asleep right now and then she wakes up randomly to take it outside immediately and stuff like that so it's you're console like on edge you're never like really relaxed I always thought like you know when she's asleep I'll be able to like do whatever I'll play video games and like maybe work on something cool but like no when she sleeps I sleep yeah yeah that's that's your window yeah yeah but I think it was a really good point like what you're saying before was like there's never a good time to have a puppy and that's probably the case especially how involved puppies are but like I feel like that's a good good point for almost anything it's like there's almost never a good time to like take a vacation or another time to make a certain change in your life or whatever like you have to craft that time you have to make it right and it's yeah it's hard and like compromises need to be made but like you just have to make it happen otherwise it doesn't happen yeah if you're constantly going to put life on pause then you're never going to be able to hit play or whatever exactly yeah exactly indeed indeed well that's, that's our hot take for the this is a life advice for the for the night we can move on now, and thanks quiet for the kind words thanks everyone yeah, all right one thing that I wanted to do before we get into it is I wanted to shout out as many people as I could remember, that was involved in the video that we're about to watch and comment and provide commentary for because I don't know if, y'all know how many people are like kind of involved also those people would probably appreciate you know that that you'll know that they work really hard so obviously there was noon and I, yep so I in this case like what I did was I did the the majority of the script writing for this one which usually I think snoot does but I did this one so it helped out a bit and, and obviously I was in it I did a little bit of like editing and overseeing the project as a whole I did a little bit of b-roll and a tiny tiny tiny bit of song selection but, that's pretty much what I did snoot did some Scripts you did like obviously you were in it yeah the lighting stuff on location as well yeah some editing some color grading and some general like tips not tips and tricks not even feedback but just like direct pointers I'd say yeah because you had you you did a bunch of the editing right well how did this because because then it was Mason and I'm gonna put Mason yeah Mason has a command well the capital Jesus does that work it does the Mason is yeah a freelance editor he does editing for us at satisfact, coffee stain for satisfactory he does stuff for satisfactory news, he does his own stuff he edits my videos on YouTube as well so I have YouTube you can check that out you guys, so he does a bunch of editing and Mason did, I think about a bunch of the rough cut at first yep, and then he did a bunch of the editing after that and a bunch of the song selection he did a bunch of b-roll he did like the the probably the majority of the edit I would probably say yes yeah yes, so shout outs to shout outs to Mason so like yeah like because the the feedback or tips or whatever that you were saying it was like hand over to Mason right because Mason hadn't done a passionately with us before and didn't really know our workflow so you will like handed that over to him yeah I think I did the the because in when you do like professional editing or whatever you usually have like a pre-editor and you have like the actual editor and the pre-editor is like the person who's like setting up the clips and like syncing audio and and that and that so I did that for this video and then handed it over to Mason to do like the rough cut and the like the rest of the timing and stuff like that yeah, and then and then I'd jump in while we were working on it because we had it was like a three was it four weeks or three weeks it was four weeks complete I think including the pre the pre-production as well with the script writing probably one of our quickest yeah definitely our quickest the the update 5 video took two months to make yeah, from start to scratch and I think like that's not counting the entire like work time either because like I worked a lot of overtime on that too, so I would say two and a half months actually, and this one was everything in one month yeah yeah it was, pretty crazy that we go through it was shorter which helps, yeah, DJ PC with a post check and hydrate I hydrated already everyone fix your posture thanks everyone good job helps a lot and also 100 bits thanks djpc much appreciated hello Jason hello hello oh yeah, yeah so that was that was that was pretty pretty quick, then, Linus who is a coffee stain editor who does like editing for a bunch of different things within coffee stain, also really came through and helped me out in the end with some extra b-roll because, Mason doesn't have have access to our editor and there's certain like camera features that we can only access, within our editor and, so Linus you know he's already really busy and he had a lot of things going on but he really really came through, right at the last minute when there was some stuff that we still needed that Mason couldn't get, and yeah he did an amazing job with the final, the final pieces that we're missing with the edit, yeah with the b-roll that that really brought it home getting those juicy shots yeah and then big shout out to Dennis filatov who is, I don't know if he works for coffee center he's a contractor but he's with ghostwood Empire and he's a I guess he's a musician but he also does like he did the audio mix for this and he did sound design for the video as well huge thanks to him, Alex and Sonia from coffee scene publishing who helped out with getting translations for the video so that people all over the world could enjoy the video too, I've got to be missing someone there's there's always like the thing where you're doing shout outs it's always so dangerous because you you tend to like always forget like one of those key people yeah and you feel super bad about it Simon yep yeah Simon helped out yeah there's probably like a couple of people that I was like Ben is a good person but I don't say anything as well because he always tends to like do help out with like certain like small tweaks here and there that helps us in the editor and stuff like that exactly and he did exactly that on, the the Monday the day before he, yeah he put in like a quick fix that was happening an issue with like the blueprint Holograms and like I was like oh man you know these don't look super good right now, and he like quickly just jumped in and fixed that up just, just so we could quickly record it so that was super nice yeah yeah that's actually a general problem like we have like me and Jason were making content for satisfactory because we have such a tight like delivery schedule or whatever because like when we release the update we're we're releasing it literally like you know the day when it's done so to speak, and sometimes like content isn't ready for us to be able to work on videos and stuff like that so sometimes like we would actually need like maybe a month even before we could find all that stuff so sometimes you know things aren't as ready as they should be when we make videos and stuff like that so sometimes I just have to like run to bed and be like hey, is there any way we can make this work so, we can show it off because right now it doesn't look like anything yeah yeah this this is again one of the struggles that I think snook has to deal with when he works on patreon's videos but this time, didn't have to deal with it so much and I didn't have to deal with it so much it wasn't too bad, it was just like kind of one thing in the end but yeah it was really good also like it's yeah sorry gone it's usually better since we're doing like since we did this patronization for the Early Access release it was a lot more finished around this time a lot of content yeah so like I don't know five for update five I was constantly bugging Ben about stuff yeah, that wasn't working or like you know if I'm gonna film The customizer and the customizer doesn't show up and stuff like that then I just like I'm blocked yeah yeah the game was already inexperimental for like a month and and fixed in this case so so yeah I guess that's why it was easier- I couldn't have even imagined I think it would have been a deal breaker if I had to deal with that stuff at the same time honestly because I was editing the video up to three hours before the stream really yeah yeah I was editing it still but yeah it was super good, thank you very much, Gemini and Ricker for the followers thanks worked out really well and a lot of people were saying that this is backwards by the way and I'm not sure I don't know if they are I know they look like they're backwards but yeah the the because look the the small oh yeah we actually talked about this yeah the small part of the, no the they're not backwards they're not there's there's no one has their eyes that close together no one does and the the back side actually expands and goes wider so they're actually not I thought I thought they were the wrong way too but when you look at look at it through the the other way everything gets smaller so like it it's it's not yeah yeah it was really strange yeah but I mean the I think the fact that people thought they were backwards is actually good it makes it even yeah I think we actually talked about that during the shoot as well yeah because you you mentioned it like doesn't it look like they're backwards and we checked and then like but then we're like but that's actually funnier if it backstory here because usually we've had this joke a couple of times actually where where we reached into Jace's Australian origin right we had it in the update three right trailer when you were running around looking for pipes and stuff and I think like originally the idea was like oh we'll do a call back to you like looking for wildlife or something like that yeah and then in the script writing process you were like nah man- I pulled a [ __ ] 180 you're the one doing it yeah because when I went to Australia right that was one we were like oh yeah yeah you lead into it but it all it all felt like a two forest or something like that like the overdunistic but yeah I don't know this worked out really well this is just kind of came to me, yeah so it was It was supposed to be a shitty yesterday on an accent which isn't hard for me to pull off I think it was very good I think it was really good all things all things considered I don't know I don't know if that's a compliment or not like so long as it's like you can hear that I'm trying to make an Australian accent then it's it's fine you know like so long as it's not like oh why is speaking British and then like oh the joke is that I'm trying to speak Australian like so long as that yeah yeah and I think everyone sort of could hear the the Australian yeah the other thing was I really loved all the comments from people who were like, you know I'm from Australia and I can confirm that this is how we how we all speak I really appreciate that yeah from a lot of Australians there was one person who responded I think on Twitter who was like I'm not sure if I should be impressed or offended okay, I'm British I get people thinking I'm really Aussie really Taco, yeah okay, yeah this is good whoa whoa whoa no need the chocolate probably mate the accent is so good at that oh my God no need to check on wobbly mate just like yeah so I weird thing about this the The Anthem here also this pause Jesus, the The Anthem here I was like wait is the Anthem copyright am I allowed to use this and I and I checked out and it's like you have to like I'm not sure I'm really not sure but I went to we use epidemic sound so I just check epidemic sounds and it was there I was like well I guess we can use it so well okay add that it's fine yeah because it could be the case where like a recording of the anthem is copyrighted or something like that yeah yeah yeah so I used the one from epidemic I'm like well I would love to use the music here so whatever do they have every anthem on epidemic for every country I wonder I'm not sure I was surprised that the Australian one was there there was only one there I mean- I also thought it would be [ __ ] hilarious if you took someone else's family it's a New Zealand one or something yeah yeah, not enough very true true they could have been more swearing but yeah probably not appropriate for, updates especially, Australian squaring can get pretty bad so we don't really yeah yeah I'll show you how to do a real Australian accent howdy partner my name is Jason I'm going to tell you all about the exploration rewards changes and so obviously this here yeah so obviously this here is actually a shout out to this community my personal Community where, I think this joke started you know where me saying that I've got a really well it's not a joke it's true oh dude the would enjoy it as well I think it was pretty funny, I think we had a call back to that in update four of two because there's a moment where I say like it's like I'm in France oh yeah I can't remember yeah yeah yeah the whole vamanos and Everest thing yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's not exactly the same thing but yeah yeah previously the only way to get fixed coupons so some stuff here was reused so I think this is like old footage from I think the coupon the the, the reveal yeah the awesome shop reveal, yeah again so so like normally what we would have when we when we're making these b-roll is like the biggest thing I think the biggest task and b-roll is these little side shots right this is the hardest thing to think of that yeah it's the hardest so much [ __ ] time it's it's insane and normally it's snoot who does it and Linus is busy so it was gone I have PTSD trying to do this [ __ ] because everything goes wrong all the [ __ ] time oh yeah yeah so- I can't I just can't right so Mason, saved the day getting a lot of in-game footage and also had to like dig through some older footage and reuse some, he did a really good job at that but then also he got his own footage in game two, and then yeah so then Lena suddenly had to jump in right at the end and get a you know like I think it was like four extra shots or something yeah b-roll is painful and yeah and timing it it's really important yeah it was by sinking Factory items and then awesome this is from Lena in update seven you can also think alien DNA capsules previously organic data capsules so later just say balls are touching nice for coupons to make your time spent which means this feature does not interfere with regular Factory items thinking and the awesome sink oh that's what an Australian accent sounds like yeah dude why did you switch to Brazilian accent look it wasn't you don't understand the Nuance right, yeah this spot's pretty good so my rash has just been flaring up again it started out like Madagascar it's more like grease you should get that checked out watch out that's a bloodthirsty killer that is you're right but it doesn't have to be this way because in update seven we're introducing game modes very good the [ __ ] music cut yeah yeah it was really good this this shot here is really good out like acting was amazing Taco thank you very much for the sub by the way much appreciated thank you thank you, yeah I think the acting was pretty good here and then like the zoom in Linus was doing like manual zooming super good no what if that's a bloodthirsty killer that is you're right but it doesn't have so yeah go on it's so cool that we have that prop too we didn't think about that when we were filming or like when we were setting this shot up and then we were like wait we have the [ __ ] Casino Badger we're gonna use it in shot now yeah yeah yeah and, and the the plush so the this is actually different to the script what happened in the script was that we would turn the corner and there would be a cute little lizard doggo sitting there and, the idea that I had when I was writing the script was like we'd take some like we either like CGI the the doggo in or we'll just take, some in-game footage of the Dogo just sitting there looking cute and and you know it'll be like whoa It's a bloodthirsty killer and the dog was just like just chilling like all happy that was like that was like what was supposed to happen, but then on like in the moment we're like oh we can't really this isn't it didn't feel quite right and we we didn't really know how we're gonna stop the shot and then I was also thinking like ah then we're gonna have to try and get this like really good shot in Bureau later not really sure but then I kind of who came up with it to be this way it was also that, we were every shot we all always wanted to get in a Jace clone somewhere yeah to be referenced that's right and and we were like wait how do we get a Jay's clone into this shot and then we're like oh we just filmed some b-roll I guess for you laying down Dead with the lizard dog or something like that but then it turned into you actually like fighting it yeah while we were filming it yeah so we had to yeah we just kind of like figured that out on the spot it's pretty good yeah there's a lot of improvising as we go, I think which is yeah because because I think this shot I don't think we like when we were filming this decided like let's do it this way I think this just kind of came together by things just kind of happening yeah so like I think Mason took this shot and edit and it made sense and you know that it just became the shot yeah yeah- I like that things can organically grow as well like in the moment in the edit like there's space for that too so but the the thing that makes me feel like it fills me with anxiety sometimes when I think about this I'm like but then what if we didn't take this shot like we never planned to what if we didn't think to do it like it's it's it always feels like it feels like we get lucky every single time but we have like a fallback sort of because like you mentioned we were gonna do like in-game at least yeah yeah or something like that you know so you would have some footage of the lizard doggo yeah, so there would be something and then we fought we filmed this as well and then it turned out like, let's just go with this it's better yeah but, but then yeah the and then the thing that I'm- I kind of want to say was like it does feel like we get lucky every time but yeah there's something to the fact that we get lucky every time right so we should just like trust in the fact that it'll be okay you know we'll figure it out so that's good it's all about problem solving yeah pretty much pretty much improvising yeah filmmaking is all about problem solving- I remember, what's his name the dude who directed the, shazam movie he's a Swedish like it's kind of random because it's a Swedish YouTuber who made like two horror films and then somehow he managed to get like a [ __ ] deal with DC to make a [ __ ] full-on it's kind of crazy but he had a YouTube channel where he he essentially like talked about the the process of being a director and he's not he's not like he himself says I'm not a good director because I've only directed like three films and I've panicked every single [ __ ] time and I don't know what I'm doing he essentially talks about a lot of yeah but directing is mostly problem solving like you realize like even big budget films they have like like oh [ __ ] this is not the right like backdrop we thought when we were scouting this, we need to remove it, we can do that with CGI or we can do this thing right we can move these around or yeah the C needs to change or like oh [ __ ] we forgot they're not wearing shoes here let's change the order of of sequence and stuff like that it's quite interesting to hear from like a director of that, like making big budget movies talking about that stuff yeah because like my impression as well with like like crew and stuff like that on sets in in big films too like they're constantly just fixing [ __ ] and and like like problem solving it sounds really hectic but like so like in a lot of ways the way we film these the same process is just we're we're three people instead of you know 50 people you know dude we have to solve them in different in different manners based on what resources we have so like the process is just kind of there and that you kind of need to follow the process to make anything at all yeah it results in a pretty pretty good vibe I think though yeah you know there are videos I don't take themselves too seriously so thanks for the followers everybody appreciate it, okay that is you're right but it doesn't have to be this way because in update seven we're introducing game modes right I forgot so people have been asking for game modes such as creative every time you say game modes I hear game modes dude when I recorded the video for this- I had so many outtakes where I'm like no I can't say I have to [ __ ] pronounce game modes like and even then it still sounds like I'm saying game modes I forgot so people have been asking for game modes you said game modes yeah like I'm really pronouncing the M but even then it's so hard not to hear it again he said game modes yeah I mean yeah they were comments I think they're like live people said game modes it was pretty good I think it is what it is I don't know it's just yeah I mean it's I mean it's funny too yeah I don't know a creative mode peaceful mode and even hardcore mode since day one and we're glad to be introducing game modes in update 7. however we are not adding everything right away at the moment we're only introducing game mode settings that affect the hostility of the local fauna AKA peaceful mode you can set them to be completely passive or to only retaliate when attacked first we're planning to add this effects like when when you're cloning someone on screen it's essentially just masking you you you take like you film one person doing like the the thing and then you film the same thing on a different part of the screen doing the thing and then in in the editor you just like remove the parts where it's empty space and then like overlay them yeah, which but there are a couple of places where like it's hard to do that for instance if you're ever handing something off to another person, that [ __ ] is CR is like crazy how to do it sometimes there are other things which are like, eye contact which are really hard to nail timing is insanely hard to nail so like yeah I don't know- I it's it's it's kind of obvious how this was made right it's not really that advanced but to actually get it to work as good as it did is Act was actually very hard and we had to like problem solve quite a bit in the moment and we can we can probably show that a little later when we look at Premiere but, yeah yeah so so the only thing- I wish we would have nailed like this shot was really hard to get by the way, the only thing I wish would have gotten to was having so you see Jace leave and enter the frame at the same time so you still yeah that was the only thing missing but yeah other than that I think this is a pretty good yeah that was that was my intention and hope as well but yeah we didn't we didn't quite know yeah it's it's also hard because like we couldn't really like, what's the word because the the thing that was really stressful about this shot is once we've filmed it we yes is is the fake one conveyor belts are one of the most placed billables in the game so this was, makes sense to us to make them as convenient as possible conveyor belts cannot be placed on ceilings to give you more options structure factories and conveyable placement now dynamically switches to the correct attachment when aiming conveyor belts on the floor wall and ceiling more good good footage from, Mason here all of this also applies to my personal favorite feature in the game pipes this is my save file a lever of pipes since day one I love pipes I bet you do I don't know how dramatic this realize Oh wait we're in a different place now so it's like all these transitions have to be really deliberate, I remember because we actually spent a lot of time with that on update five video because like the transitions always feel so jarring when you don't do them correctly and I kind of like that it's a bit of like a shift in this video because you have much like like much more direct like, like Cuts between the different sections and I kind of like that for this video because it really like segments the different like aspects much more the difference yeah yeah exactly because it is essentially just a bunch of different skits tied together whereas like update five wasn't really like that like it really was like a whole story like the the where we were was all like relevant like we're supposed to move through this you know the whole golf course and stuff like that so yeah it was a different different feel oh boy it's really dark in here yeah and it seems like the power is out we're gonna need some juice absolutely not that not that kind of juice yeah yeah hour right, well I can go and overclock the generator you got any power shards on you I don't, but I did see shot was like like one of the last things we did on the day and we were pretty tired this whole segment right this is the last so it was the blueprint part off this which was the last part, I would say like this shot here I wish we could have done a little bit more with but we just didn't have the time we're running out of time running out of energy like yeah I feel like, yeah but I think it's okay I also think one one thing I do like about it though is it it creates a lot of space for the whole Simon foreshadowing it it like it gets I don't know to me it puts a bit of focus on that so I did like that about this this shot yeah what would you like to have changed with this I'm honestly not entirely sure like I just feel like maybe like the one shot where it holds on us for a long time that nothing really happens that's the thing you know and so normally when that happens you might want to break it up with different angles or something like that so like visually more is happening not only that it's a it's like a really dark shot so you can hardly see like all the details and things so like to me I'm kind of like it feels a little bit too long of a shot for not much happening with little detail that's just how I felt about it, but there is something that happens and it's the mention of Simon, and it does you know it pushes things along it's it's fine, but like I would say that this is like one area where I was like maybe something could have been done but yeah I don't know like are you are you like totally cool with this or like the shot like do you feel do you feel like it could have been different too like what's your yeah I definitely think it could have been, different I like that- I think it's it's a bit cool that we stuck around for like a this dark shot for so long because this is this the longest take in in the entire video and it's it's kind of like not bold but like the fact that we did do it on this shot is kind of cool but I agree that you know because if we were to do something different, like I also don't know what we would have done yeah to break it up, because like even if you do like a close-up or whatever it still wouldn't you'd still wanted to be dark or like you know and and and and I guess in a way it does make it stand out a little because- I you know if yeah it's actually a good point because if this was a shot where it was like these like shots back and forth you know close up on me close up on you putting aside the fact that it's really dark and you wouldn't see anything like like then what would the shot be right like then this looks like a generic anything else yeah I mean yeah if anything you want to go with something like maybe would have like a night vision thing going on or you know maybe one of us has like a night vision goggle or you know something breaks it up the scene or I don't know or eyes in the dark you know like or something goofy like that I don't know yeah but it's it's sometimes sometimes when you when you record stuff and you think about like what is the effort you get like how much effort you need to put in to get something out of it sometimes it's like ah it's too much work to to like fix it yeah or yeah per se yep but I don't know it's still I don't know I you know I don't know you've you've got me thinking about this there I'm I'm of two minds of it like I'm perfectly okay with it if I wasn't happy with it I wouldn't have been able to sleep, afterwards and that's not the case it's just like but then at the same time it is a really striking shot and it does stand out in a way overclocking requires less power than before overclocking on power generators has changed too and is now more straightforward power production games will now be at the same rate as you're overclocking so when you overclock to 200 you will now get 200 of your base power production nuclear power plants will also use less water now to accommodate for these changes making fully overclocked nuclear power plants actually viable now all right I'm back whoa what do you think what what is that thing well snook allow me to introduce you to the blueprint designer y'all have been asking for something like this for a long time and here we are introducing blueprints so this is actually a pretty interesting thing so just before I was talking about transitions right well you need to like it's important to like be deliberate about your transitions not only that this is like our big feature of update seven right and normally if you think back to the particle accelerator, or lights or, dedicated servers you know like you know it's really really impactful right that's how it normally is but we weren't really sure hey how to do it also we're sort of at running out of time, you know and then you know we only had certain things to work with especially like with the script maybe that actually should have been different not sure but, I think what Mason came up with was actually really interesting and really it's it's unlike the rest of the video and it's unlike most of our videos where the same song plays through somehow we found this song where it feels really good it plays through from this segment to cutting back to us and our acting parts and then it works for the reveal as well and it ties all this whole power thing together I don't know it's to me it like it like there's no like there's no clear transition but it works really well and I don't really know how he managed that but it was really good 100 of your baseball production was the like sound effect there from the song that I'm not sure of it could have that may have been added by Dennis I'm not too sure if that's in the song or not but yeah because it's a really good like flavor thing where you hear like the thing boot up even though the designer doesn't really boot up you kind of need that for the reveal even though it doesn't make sense yeah like flavor-wise yes it primes the camera right like of the day like the big justification was, I mean I like this shot something like that for a long time and here we are introducing blueprints we have this follow-up shot build layouts can now be saved which you didn't have before then a module with a maximum dimension of 32 cubic meters and then there was this shot that I think Mason took but it was it was not it was much simpler yeah it wasn't this exactly oh okay gotcha yeah it was just the designer bench with a with like a background, and we thought that it could have been a little bit more interesting so like Linus did it with the Cinematic cameras in the engine, and, put the Pioneer in there and then use the same space for it so like the other justification of rebuilding all that stuff, was that we could have these follow-up shots where everything is in the the same space yeah, yeah so 32 meters so people have pointed out live and in the comments and right now that 32 meters by 32 meters by 32 meters is not 32 cubic meters, true my bad aren't just saying aren't you saying 32 cubed meters, I said meters cubed I think within a module with a maximum dimension of 32 cubic meters cubic meters oh not meters cubed right if it was mean as cubed that would have been right right I think that's what I thought it said in the script yeah see yeah so like when that happened live like my my my stomach sank I was like oh that's so embarrassing, but then I was like it's so funny because I had the script other people checked it other people checked it I was gonna say like it goes through like six people yeah yeah and nobody caught catches that yeah yeah so oh well that happens that happens surprisingly a lot actually like you wouldn't believe it but I think it's a bit that like people trust maybe that other people don't make mistakes or something like that yeah yeah it just happens, no no need to apologize it's cool yeah no well it's it's a little blunder but it's not a big deal I'm the thing I'm glad about is that I think that even though it's incorrect people will know what I'm I mean I think right because yeah yeah 32 cubed meters true Lost in Translation exactly, hazy cups These Blueprints can then be constructed wherever you want making time no mistakes can ever be made by anyone exactly it ever must must be corrected at all times true I'm consuming build configurations much easier blueprints will need to be created in the blueprint designer as you can't take an existing Factory layout and slap that into a blueprint The Limited space makes it so that you'll have to come out with and plan out ways and how you assemble and combine your Blueprints and we think this will quite drastically change how you plan out your factory designs blueprints will also be saved into their own blueprint file on your hard drive this means that blueprints will be available to all of your save files assuming you have unlocked the required research yeah so, this so this is a shot that I took from people who watch me play satisfactory on stream not that I do it all the time but when I do this is my save you may recognize it, yeah so we had a bug and it was it was inexperimental for quite a long time and I didn't see a lot of people talk about it but when you built blueprints everything was these big cubes for some reason, thank you very much for the follow-up, big cubes for some reason and I was like wait this is not how blueprints is supposed to look and so like when I took some footage or Mason took footage and like there were these big blocky cubes and I was like this is not right this looks kind of weird and- I didn't think that we did we have to do this for optimization reasons so this is what I reached out to Ben he was like yeah that's not right he's like I'll fix that and so that like the Monday the day before he fixed it, and- I believe that's now fixed for everyone live as well I think so, yeah just to place them and can be shared with others however they will unfortunately not take advantage of cloud storage so be mindful of that if you're hopping between PCS neat so, this part, was not in the script, you I'll show some outtakes of it later but yeah it just kind of came up in the in the you know at the moment we were both really tired here and I was just thinking people are always a lot of people were saying oh it should be bigger it should be bigger, so that's why I thought I'd just say this and and it wasn't in the script and I don't think you knew how to respond or you didn't want to go there also the edit that I got of this had this part cut out like it had that could be bigger, I think it had that could be bigger I can't remember but it didn't have the loft or anything it just moved on no for sure yes and I was like no we cut here we zoom in we we let it go, yeah neat it could be bigger because like the reaction I have from this scene is like that is the reaction we get we're like that is my legit reaction when people are like oh why is it only 32 by 33 to do I'm like, -huh yes that's why, -huh so yeah dude I don't even work anymore the Clones just kind of do everything they just worked like one day a month and I just chill and play RuneScape what do they eat each other that line, when I was writing the script it just like it just spilled out into the document into the script before I even knew what was going to happen what do they eat each other RuneScape it was muscle memory yeah what did they eat just each other I started laughing I was just like I burst out laughing at my desk when I wrote that I was like ah perfect yeah I think that's that's the key sign that like if if something you're right makes you laugh then you keep it yeah yeah exactly I want to try all right this this worked out so well this this transition was so kind of winged, but I paused on this guy on this Jace paused and the rest did not pause and I'm so annoyed that I paused here because I hate that pause but the rest of them had to like we have to do some movie Magic to make them fit with the first one it was really annoying but you know that's just how it goes you can't you can't tell with the Clones you just can't tell, a lot of people ask me too about this shot like how long like oh how many ticks did it take to make this, the amount that you see yeah yeah pretty much yeah I think we there was there's a few takes of this first one that we did where like yeah like we either messed up or, did a couple I think it was because we realized that like oh [ __ ] we're gonna say the same line over and over again we need to say it at the same like Cadence and like the same Rhythm otherwise it's going to not sync up well and we're gonna forget yeah the other thing was we do it the other thing was that the lighting was going you can tell like it's oh yeah kind of dark here the lighting because it's winter in Sweden and you know heaven forbid we film at 3 P.M, and so the lighting in this room was was going and because it Not only was the lighting going that's like one thing that that sucks because you know it's hard to film the dark but like when the sun is just setting that's when the light shifts like a [ __ ] ton like the color and the brightness changes so quickly it's insane, and actually I think that there was like quite a bit of color correction that needed to be done on the Clones to make them fit and in the scene because between filming this first one and filming the later ones the light had changed enough that it didn't even you couldn't even seamlessly put them together anymore it doesn't yeah it doesn't just shot it by itself too like it's incredibly fast like the light goes did we have an end bed on the suit I can't remember oh yeah oh yeah it's assignment forgot about that I can [ __ ] sound design so this was great thank you very much for the following, this was great so like, there's the, the previous voice lines with Reverb where I'm like oh Simon's name on it, oh yeah was that a dentist idea Dennis did that Dennis did that and I was like oh that's so good and it like it it connects this back to that part like there might be so many people who don't know who Simon is it was really good and then I was like but [ __ ] the subtitles are different now and we already sent the subtitles off for translation so I had to go in and update the sub subtitles and then send it to, Sonia and Alex and be like hey could you guys get them to update the subtitles and then the translators did end up updating it which is really really lucky it's good because it happened at the end and there was no other subtitles at the end so like it was only like four lines that they had to adjust but luckily they did hell yeah great thing about Simon is just he's just like oh yeah you need me to look in the fridge and it's just so perfect he's so good at it I don't know in all the Simon sagas it was also effortless for him he's just existing yeah that was perfect yeah his cast for that role yeah it's perfect he was he was out whatever he's he's born for the cast born to play the role of Simon Born to Be Simon yeah yeah but, yes that was pretty cool so that was the update seven a Patronus video Yeah that's the whole video and I don't I don't there's not really any plans for Simon stuff like, we like maybe we could so like we've a lot of people have asked for like more Simon Saga stuff and like I think the thought was that well if we have a good reason to do it in a good way to do it like that felt natural then we should just do it, and in this case when I was writing the script I was like wait if Simon is down for this like this we can just this just makes sense to me I had this idea I could see it and it was like a natural organic thing I wasn't trying to force it make it happen so I was like oh you know let's just do it there's no we don't have to commit to anything long term I know people would probably like to see more Simon Saga but, yeah at this stage we just it just is what it is and it's just a fun little moment who knows what will happen hmm but the door is open the cool thing yeah the cool thing is the door does open from this so you know there's there's a chance but, I don't want to force it, yeah I've got a good reason Simon sure that is a good reason yeah, yeah so that was, the video you guys down for some behind the scenes stuff hell yeah I don't remember most of the it's second take what's that, this is I think this wasn't used to the update seven patch notes videos we did a close-up that we never used yeah yeah so this was like the idea was it would be close up on student and then zoom out or cut to me saying hello but we didn't roll with that obviously it takes no only one thing so what are you doing look at all the colors what's that force not that's for when I do color grading you actually show that if you unlock the the there's two layers on top of that adjustment layers if you unlock those and then just like disable them this is what it looks like when it comes out of the camera it's shot in log format which is like a format where you get more color space but it looks like dog [ __ ] so you have to like fix it so the first the the one that's like right above the Blue Line the first V2 is the correction and when I'm doing the correction which creates like a Rec 709 you're Frozen for some reason, all right now you're not it's because I'm very oh wait wait wait wait hold up hold up hold up there we go I look like I'm moving on screen now I had to I think I have to move this here maybe is that why people shattered muted no okay let's see looks like you're working hmm yeah okay I think it's working now okay so yeah, so yeah like we the first thing you do is you create like a default color space so you like get the right colors from what you shot and that's what I use that like the little plate for see that has all the different colors and there's also software you can use to like spec out like here's the color chart in the video and then it automatically like figures that [ __ ] out oh is this like a standard layout or something yeah it doesn't always work, and it doesn't always produce like the best colors, to match what actually what the environment actually looked like, so- I usually just enable that first and then check what it looks like and be like all right cool because like the your shirt when I use that plug-in looked [ __ ] crazy oh really you're yeah your purple shirt looked insane and super grainy, because it was trying to like correct for something that I'm not quite sure what the hell was going on so I had to like fiddle around a lot with with that to make it match, there's a few shots in this video where like the color of your shirt doesn't match like all the shots throughout the video but it's like close enough with the color space that I have and with like then on top of b-roll in between people aren't going to see the difference yeah exactly exactly like you only see really if you put them side to side, and then the second layer you have on top of that is like the creative layer, where I just add like the typical orange and teal look, that's in like 90 of the movies you see where our skin colors are same and then all the Shadows are blued or like- I just increased Blues in the shadows and then the exception is our skin colors so like our skin colors, and then there's also like I also grade the the color because there's like there's a skin line is what it's called, where like human skin regardless of like what color people's skin are they all follow like the same gradient or something okay, so like if you make sure that the color of someone's skin follows that line then your Gucci essentially okay and that creates that orange and tea look nice do you use lumetry for this, yes for this I usually use a different plugin because I you don't really have a lot of this is like one of the things where DaVinci Resolve is so much better than Premiere yeah color grading is so much easier and you have so much more control over it but the thing with, with like using plugins and stuff like that if you're handing the product over to someone else they don't have those plugins it messes up then it doesn't work they have to have like so so either you have to like render out the the shots and then send them over back again usually what big Productions Do Is they they film everything and they edit it and they're like cool and then they freeze the edit and then they send it off to color grading and then they do all that stuff separately yeah but it didn't really work for for the way we do it especially I think especially since, because did you use resolve before with patch notes videos right yeah in this case like you had to leave yeah so like yeah it really wasn't an option I guess yeah so I use lumature for this I hate using limitry because it's really tricky to use but you can you can get the same effect like with any plug-in really but it's just finicky to use it okay it makes it easier to work with for everyone else oh wow wow we also forgot to do it in a couple of scenes and those scenes are the ones that like aren't as good color space wise because I had to like just [ __ ] wing it okay this is the hypnotize the audience you will have fun you will have fun yeah that's just a white balance which we didn't really need to set too much actually because I managed to nail it every single time good one by hand oh and modest hell yeah I don't know if this is, loud enough I'm gonna pump this up like I don't know yeah this is also me to snoot how do we do a chat but we can't what's the secret that's that's the thing this is the problem we have to solve what's the secret the secret is my hair yes exactly earbuds airpods yeah slow down yeah but the script proper you still would need to know my timings as well like when you just read from a prompt that you don't know how I SP like what Cadence I had when I'm speaking like when to say things or what speed I was speaking at because I just I'd speak at the same rate otherwise it'd be awkward pauses between me and snoot so it was really tricky so it took it took quite a just like tweaks at the end, b-roll was a little tough, because Mason did a lot of it and he did a really great job but then like Mason also just didn't have the editor and he didn't have the Cinematic tools that we have so it was like there's only so much that he could do, but yeah I mean he did like I think like 90 of the b-roll which is super good, and then Lena's just tied up the last last bits that we needed, yeah Jace mom in the chat his eye cool well I mean that's what we were here for so I don't know you have any other plans to do it I'm gonna get a burger you're gonna get a
