this is an interesting question when are you guys optimize, when you guys optimize the game are you aiming for better performance from Super builds or focusing on what normal people would experience during their time in their factories so that depends a little bit on what we're optimizing because one thing is when we take a save file from someone who has like a super Factory, it's a lot easier to see in the big save files what is sort of like sticking out in the in the profiling when we check it because the way it works is we have like a profiling system where you can you can put in you can play the game and then it measures every frame like how long did it take on the CPU and GPU to do certain things, and then you look at that and like oh here's an interesting like belts took up you know a huge chunk like two milliseconds on the frame which is a huge chunk if you're trying to play 60 60 FPS which is 16 milliseconds per second roughly so if if something takes up two milliseconds like that's pretty big chunk so so compared to like other things so it's easier when we have bigger save files to look at that stuff because it sticks out a lot more it's a lot the the proportions are bigger because this this the safe lot is so much slower like the FPS is so much slower, so a lot of times when we take a big Factory save and we look at it and we optimize for it and when we say see like sort of big gains on those save files like those gains will be way bigger than when we're optimizing on smaller normal save files so we like optimizing for the big save files will optimize for the small normal save us as well in like 99 percent of the times I think so a lot of times when we have optimize the games we essentially have just a bunch of save files that are huge and and we try to play the game with those and optimize for that, so yeah that's essentially how that works, I think for the most part unless there's a very specific issues that we're trying to solve, and in those cases I think we make our own State balls but, yeah optimizing for the big save files will optimize for the smaller ones but the thing with that too is that you know something that's considered a big save file now was not was impossible a year ago maybe and like if we optimize to say file that like took you know, say that we had a safe file that took like 50 milliseconds to render and then we prove it to be like 40 milliseconds or whatever like that's a huge gain but that just means that oh now we can build more and then you bring it back up to 60 milliseconds and like okay we optimize again and it never ends, because what we've noticed is the more we optimize the game the the more ludicrous the same files get and then people still run into the Caps that they run into like people still play on their 5fps, so yeah normally means average I'm sure I'm not average that's another thing too, because like the people that do have these like massive save files they make up such a small part of our community so sometimes I think it's a little bit daunting when people are reading about like oh the game isn't optimized enough or or whatever like that that is like if you're building at that scale which most people don't you know a lot of people always be scared of like the object limit is another thing a lot of people always like oh I don't want to get into the game if I feel like I'm Gonna Get You Know hit a limit with the game or whatever like that limit people don't hit it and unless they play like hundreds of hours of the game like most people do not hit the object limit it's a very small portion of the game a small portion of the community that actually do hit that, but they are a vocal one so they you know you'll see it when you browse the forms and stuff like that and that's that's just how it is yeah so if you haven't hit the object limit your scrub is essentially what I'm saying oh you haven't played the game enough can we stop doing like the, the, the hour shaming that people do you know how like sometimes sometimes I'll see a post and someone's like wow I played I played, 100 hours on my save file and then someone always like oh those are rookie numbers come on I played 100 hours that's insane that's a lot of hours wasted so much time you know foreign that's it it's a lot of ours
